Product/Class List
Antler Hollow offers a variety of learning possibilities at various levels of involvement. Students can participate at whatever level is comfortable. All participants, however, are required to sign a Release of Liability for any activity. We put safety first -- our students' safety is our primary concern. However, the unpredictability of the activities we provide is always a constant. We ask for common sense on all levels of association. We are here to share our beautiful ranch, graphics skills, and animals with any and all who would like to work with them. We welcome both children and adults, though we prefer that the students come with some proficiency in computer use (though they do not need to know the programs at the outset) and a good comfort level with animals.
What Exactly is a Tutorship?
"Tutorhship" is a coined word that Mrs. Cox created simply out of necessity. The class design isn't a fellowship, or a scholarship, or an internship -- it isn't a dog obedience class or riding lesson. It is tutoring for a right brain/left brain activity that covers a lot of information in a six-week period. Nowhere else have we seen classes offered of this kind ... so we created them! To view PDFs of our course outlines, click these links: Canine, Equine, or GraphicsOnly. Our course Outlines and class materials are completely original works by Bonnie Cox.
Right Brain - Left Brain Learning
A few years ago, Mrs. Cox attended a business seminar for her corporate job's employees. One of the speakers, stressing the need for balanced activity in the workplace (don't sit for too long, don't type for too long, don't talk on the phone for too long, etc.), suggested standing, stretching, walking around, and, oddly enough, coloring with crayons in a coloring book. The speaker explained that the right and left sides of the brain have different roles, yet somehow work together at the same time. However, while the right brain is active, the left brain can "take a break" and coast for a while. Mixing things up in our activities allows our brains to work more efficiently -- both sides pulling their own weight. Tutorships begin each class with right-brain activity, then move to left-brain when we enter the classroom. It's that simple.
This seminar also sparked Mrs. Cox's creation of her electronic watercolors. She did not have a coloring book, so she used Photoshop instead, using the picture's own colors for her pallette. Since that time she has done hand-painted portraits for several private clients. Electronic watercolor painting is also available; see below.

Are these riding lessons/Dog obedience classes? Our classes with the horses and dogs are husbandry classes. They cover care and maintenance, health care, budgeting, history/show, and ground work. If a student wishes to ride, they may. A helmet and boots are required. Students in the dog class will learn to handle a dog on and off leash, but it is not an obedience class per se. However, the skills in both classes are a great foundation for students who wish to take their work to the next level. |
Tutorship Wish Lists Our six-week tutorships allow for 3-4 students at a time, depending on student preference (one-on-one or two-student sessions). If a six-week session is full, students can request to be put on a Wish List for future openings. To be put on the Wish List, please click here to send us an email: Tutorship Wish List |

2010 Puppy List We are hoping to breed our female Doberman, Tango, in the future; perhaps for a litter in 2010. We have chosen an AKC Champion-line Doberman male who is owned by Tango's breeder. See About the Animals for more information about Tango. Champion-line puppy prices are $750. This is a steal for Dobermans of this quality -- but we are not breeding for profit ... Tango is just too nice a dog to miss out on passing on such great bloodlines and temperment. If you wish to be put on our Doberman puppy list, please click here to email us: Puppy List |
